Assistant Manager, Sales (Based in Australia)

Main Responsibilities 

Sales & Distribution 

  • Manage existing partner relationships and ensure growth in sales among travel agents, API portals, GDS partners and B2C channels in Australia
  • Plan weekly visitations to decision makers in the travel industry to serve and promote Scoot products and services.
  • Increase sales and distribution by working with partners to identify new travel agents, API partners and continuously look for alternative and cost effective distribution channels.
  • Establish and develop corporate deal structures and associated sales targets.
  • Grow B2C direct sales revenue. Eg. MICE and Groups business.
  • Update trade media, travel agents and API partners on Scoot products and services and assist them to resolve issues and requests surrounding bookings.
  • Ensure revenue is maximised and costs of sales are monitored to optimise profit by each distribution channel.
  • Support trade partners with sales reporting, account administration and technical assistance
  • Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to organise and participate in trade events

Marketing 

  • Share in building and maintaining relationships with tourism and Government bodies to further promote Scoot.
  • Liaison with HQ marketing, Comms, Revenue Management team and other departments to assist successful roll out of sales campaign.
  • Plan and execute ground events as well as run contests with partners.
  • Analyse and report on outcomes of activities/campaigns
  • Ongoing review of best practice to find new and innovative ways to connect to market.
  • Source ad hoc cash or contra support for campaign/events.
  • Assist in gaining co-operative marketing funds from trade partners.
  • Negotiate exposure in form of contest; write ups in return for non-cash contributions i.e. flights.

Sales planning and reporting 

  • Recommend monthly market driven sales plan.
  • Keep up-to-date on competitor/industry information and maintain timely flow of key information to Sales HQ.
  • Provide input to HQ on additional opportunities for tactical pricing actions for incremental traffic, as well as marketing opportunities through travel agents, API portals, GDS partners, and Tourism Bodies.

Budget & Cost Management 

  • Work with Sales HQ to deliver agreed revenue budget and market share targets.
  • Manage expenditures to ensure costs associated with local sales measures and initiatives are as low as possible.

 

 

Requirements 

Essential traits

  • Degree holder, in relevant discipline 
  • Min 3-4 years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in product or key account management 
  • Proven track record of successful sales and client relationship management

Desirable traits 

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Confident presenting to, collaborating with and negotiating at an executive level.
  • An interest in the aviation sector
  • Highly independent, intuitive and autonomous
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and perform under pressure
  • Culturally aware and able to form cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of direct responsibility for revenue/sales generation.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, sales and presentation skills.
  • Ambitious and results-driven with a real energy and drive
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently and also with teams in HQ.
  • A team player with strong people skills.
  • Excellent skills in motivating and influencing internal and external business partners at all levels.
  • Ideal candidate will be based in Australia
