Assistant Manager, Product & Ancillary (Product Management)

Main Responsibilities

Ancillary Budget and Product Strategy

  • Achieve overall Ancillary Revenue budget, drive conversion rates (in-path and in-flight) to deliver per-pax revenue targets
  • Co-own and execute Ancillary Product Portfolio strategy with both a short-and long-term view
  • Ensure pace behind new product launches and business models is sustained for maximum revenue opportunities, but also manage product life cycles, helping Scoot maintain a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Track and review commercial performance of Ancillaries
  • Monitor Market Environment, keep close tabs on competitive activity, market trends, passenger, crew and staff feedback to ensure we are on-strategy and maximizing revenue opportunities
  • Generate, evaluate and launch new products and sales distribution ideas in line with commercial and brand objectives
  • Lead discussions with potential and current partners on new business opportunities

Ancillary Product Fees and Product Development

  • Review pricing strategies to optimise ancillary product fees and charge levels, in line with competitive changes and customer demand
  • Identify new opportunities for ancillary revenue streams, and propose and implement internal and external projects for improvement of existing ancillary revenues.
  • Monitor trends in product sales, and present monthly performance reports
  • Work with appointed ancillary revenue management system vendor to optimize product fees to maximize revenue

Responsible for Ancillary Products and Communications

  • Work with data and technology companies to gather learnings from product activations, and for rapid implementation of product optimization
  • Oversee email, website and campaign communications jointly with Marketing and Distribution Teams, ensuring products are well represented on various channels and sales are maximized
  • Oversee Loyalty Program and customer database development
  • Work with 3rd party vendors on post-booking products launch and optimization, in line with DIY travel trends
  • Work with Planning on Ancillary Promotion campaigns
  • Work with Distribution to optimize online conversions in-path

Working with Operations

  • Work with Ground and Cabin Operations to implement new product launches, and amend product specifications if necessary to optimize performance
  • Share business performance metrics with Ops

Requirements

Essential Skills

  • Degree holder with min. 3 years of experience in airline revenue management/ancillary revenue sales or airline commercial experience

 Desirable Traits

  • Excellent communication skills and experience in working with people at all levels
  • Numerically savvy, strong commercial acumen and good negotiation skills
  • Project management and personal time management skills, ensuring that work is produced to agreed deadlines and standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines on several projects
  • Fluent written, spoken and reading capability in English
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • Self starter
  • Enjoys and embraces change
